Jacob P. Spear is an associate attorney with Sturgul & Long, S.C. where he practices primarily in the area of estate planning, nursing home planning, and Medicaid planning. As part of these general asset protection planning areas, Mr. Spear also deals in particular with succession planning for businesses and protecting real estate (including camps and farms). Mr. Spear received his bachelor’s degree, cum laude, from Michigan Technological University and his juris doctor, magna cum laude, from the Michigan State University College of Law. He is admitted to practice law in Michigan and Wisconsin.

Jake enjoys spending time with his family, playing guitar, gardening, and supporting Michigan Tech hockey (Go Huskies!). He is a past President of the Marquette County Bar Association and currently serves on the Republic-Michigamme School Board, the Republic Township Recreation Committee, and on the Board for Camp STAR Child Bereavement Services.
